The space where something was and the space where something is trying to be

My morning walk to work. This space where a building once was fascinates me. If you click to enlarge, you can see how many textures and colors there are in this small abandoned space. And I love this plant...fighting to find the light between the slates of a blind in a bank office.

Gorgeous colours. I wonder what building was there before? And why it was taken down Hmmmmmmm?

Poor plant desperate for some light and fresh air!
Lovley post lj. Maybe I should take the camera to work with me, it might open my eyes!

Empty walls that are partially obscured...it is a Krylon sponsored delinquent community arts project waiting to happen...

H..I feel like that plant is actually saying hello (or "Help!") when I go by.
The building that used to occupy that space was a grand old lady. I'm surprised that Historic Preservation let it come down.
DM - Strange, isn't it that there's no graffiti? I find the space very beautiful and kind of eerie. Towards the back, at the bottom, the section of very old brick almost looks like it's a doorway.

Yeah Zhoen. That's a good translation. Stupid bank office venetian blind.

Thanks for sharing these little tastes of your daily walk - I love all the different colors/textures on the brick - it's lovely.

You know, PF - it's hard to turn around in Halifax without something "scenic" pop out at you. I'd kill for bit more weathered paint and collage of brick spaces.
