Goodbye and good luck

Kurt Vonnegut Jr. 1922-2007

I wanted to say something meaningful. But this image - the only thing appearing on his official website - says it all.

Has he flown the coop for the last time? I must go and look.

Yeah. He's gone. On the radio they played some interview stuff and he said, "people don't need to be told what to do - they need to be told how to endure."
I'm feeling pretty weepy. I loved Vonnegut. I learned a new way to think - and endure - from him. And for all that he was crusty and sardonic, for all that he wouldn't stiffle anything he really believed, he loved people. I'll miss him being on the earth.

Teri - Did the same to me. I just sat there staring at it for the longest time.

H - that's just it, exactly. Just how I feel about Vonnegut. Thank you so much for the article.
