I am so listening. I am. I'm memorizing every word you speak and at the same time, I'm noticing that your socks are different colors and there is egg yolk on your chin. And this whole conversation you don't think I'm listening to will appear in my next blog. So you might as well forgive me now.

Right choice?
I've just done three self-portraits trying to get something better for an avatar. I needed an image that showed my bead work in a striking way because this avatar appears also on Born Under A Bead Sign. I liked the last avatar because I looked a bit like a mad women, which, of course, I am but this hardly the image you'd like to leave with a potential customer.
In these the blender, kitchen counter and other domestic lovelies have been removed and replaced by solid blue-violet - and I've bumped the color in places, and brightened the light.
It is my hope to look approachable. I chose the bottom one, even though it cuts the cuffs off a little. The middle picture looks like I am about to shape-shift into Munch's "The Scream". Or like I'm demonstrating what "too much" is to a plastic surgeon about to do a face lift. The top one looks a bit deer-in-the-headlights, or like I'm a wise-ass. I am a wise-ass, but it isn't the image you want to sell in this case. This would have been my second choice though - I've softened my face and sharpened the cuffs. Hmmmm.
Whatcha think?

Yeah, if you are going for responsible, professional, yet arty and appealing, the last one does it. I like all of 'em. Those beaded cuffs are very dramatic.
Thanks Zhoen. Generally I wear one, but I thought a little over the top was in order.
Don't know if it's the "right choice" because I can never figure out what other people see...but before I read your choice, I picked the last one myself...for what it's worth!
Does the photo enlarge when you click it? That would give those who want a closer look a chance to see just how amazing they are.
yep...I see it does...well done, lj!
Glad you agree, BB. And PS - photoshop (in my case PSP)does wonders for us all! I usually shoot HUGE pictures, very high res. but if I posted those they would take a year to download when people don't have highspeed. I find this is about right for a monitor. It enlarges a little if you click it (I think).
You're so lucky to have really long, elegant fingers and nice nails. I'm proportionally small and child-like, which is really nice until I want to look sexy and elegant...or buy alcohol! 26 years old and I still have to carry my passport! Lovely photos though, I definitely think the last one shows both you and the cuffs off to best advantage.
Wow - your eyes are stunning! The beadwork is too - but it's your eyes that really pop in all of these pictures, for me at least.
I think I prefer the top for an avatar...
(And now to delve down and do some much needed blog reading - I've been so out of the loop lately. Now that the thesis is revised, it's time to fill my mind with beautifully written twaddle.)
I intially thought you had some neat tattoos, but then . .
OK, yes, I'll vote for #3 too.
Kate - read the next post, but thanks. Mella - get to it! We missed you. Joe - If I was younger, I'd have a body suit of tattoos. I love them!
Thanks for votes, folks. 3 seems to be winning Mella.
No 3!
You and your beaded cuffs are stunning.
I will accept all the praise you can heap for my work! As for me? I'm a fairly decent canvas with a good paint job and PSP. Grinning.
We like the expression on no.1
But they're all good...
Aha! Another vote for 1. Don't think I look a little loony in that one?
I like them all, although the middle one looks as if you are trying to demonstrate some sort of DIY face lift!
Yep Ariel! We both thought that. And I also thought I looked like the face could turn into "The Scream"...
enidd loves the beaded cuffs. and photo number three. in a purely platonic way, of course.
Hey - I love photo 2 - very glam and also very good on the beads....
Hello by the way - just passing through my first time....
Hey there Peach! Nice to meet you.
lovely in all of them. x
Love all, but my fave is #1. You like a lot like Joni Mitchell in that one!
Tanks EM and T!
